On December 15, 2025, the Riverside Hub project team presented the proposed redevelopment at 54 Brant Avenue to the City of Brantford Heritage Committee at City Hall. The presentation outlined the historical research completed for the site and shared the vision for a thoughtfully designed replacement building within the Brant Avenue Heritage District.
Committee members noted that the proposed building is visually strong, well-detailed, and a positive addition to the streetscape, acknowledging both the heritage character of Brant Avenue and its proximity to the Grand River. The Committee passed motions supporting commemoration of the existing building through design elements, including references such as the Everlasting Tree Wampum, and encouraging the use of materials that reflect the surrounding heritage neighborhood. As the design progresses, the project team is continuing to explore the building’s materiality to ensure strong alignment with the Heritage District context.
